Saudi Arabia proposed a ceasefire in Yemen

Yemeni civilians facing food shortages, medicine, and other basic needs.


Jong Kerry dan Raja SalmanSaudi Arabia proposed a truce for five days to allow aid agencies to distribute aid to civilians.

This truce reached after weeks of air strikes by coalition Saudi Arabia targeting Shiite Houthi rebels.

But the proposal for a cease-fire was put Saudi Arabia on the condition that the Houthi rebels must agree to lay down arms.

Social workers repeatedly warned that civilians Yemen suffers because semakim deteriorating conditions there.
 


 Many people are facing food shortages, medicine, and other basic needs.

Proposed truce was announced after talks between King Salman bin Abdulaziz to the United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, who was visiting Saudi Arabia, Thursday (07/05).

Prior to the announcement of this initiative, the reports mention a series of air strikes occurred Saudi Arabia on Houthi positions in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.

Saudi Arabia confirms air strike on Yemen aimed to maintain the legitimate government of Yemen Houthi rebel threat, allegedly received support from Iran.

Tehran government has repeatedly denied the allegations.
