The Litany of Imam Al-Nawawi [wird al-Nawawi] is a personal collect of the luminous sage and savant of the Levant, Imam Abu Zakaria Yahya b. Sharaf al-Nawawi, may Allah be well pleased with him and please him. The wird is found in various prayer compendiums, including:

Imam Abu Abdi-Llah Muhammad ibn al-Tayyib al-Fasi (D. 1170AH), the prominent Maghribi-born Madinan scholar, has written a commentary to the Wird. A mid-18th century manuscript of this work [Sharh Hizb Al-Imam Al-Nawawi] is available online at the Hathi Trust Digital Library.
Dr. Umar Faruq Abd-Allah, Chairman of Nawawi Foundation (Chicago, USA), in an upcoming translation and commentary of the litany, states:
This devotion (hizb) is not specific to any particular spiritual path (tariqa) and is highly respected and widely accepted by them all. It is a unique and proven fortress of physical and spiritual protection. By God’s will, the one who recites this devotion will be with God’s protection. He will put a shield around his or her family, friends and associates. Among its many benefits is the subtle way it helps to purify intentions, facilitate aspirations and give access to spiritual perfection.
